GNA-NES

Dear GNA-NES Members,

the Members Assembly of the 41st Congress of the Neurootologic and Equilibriometric Society had accepted the followings:

Prof Dr Claus-Franz Claussen, the President of the NES had been resigned, and he will follow his work as an Honorary President.

The newly elected president is Dr Agnes Szirmai from Budapest, Hungary.

The 43rd NES congress will be convened in Budapest under the chairmanship of Agnes Szirmai in 2016. The headquarters of the NES will be transposed to Budapest. The Congresses in every even year will be held in Budapest.

The New board of the NES was elected.

The vice-president is Prof. Dr. Carlos Oliveira (Brasília, Brazil). The 42nd NES congress will be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2015.

The first Secretary is Beáta Bencsik (Hungary), and the second Secretary is Dr. Anirban Biswas (Calcutta, India).

The 44th NES Congress will be held in India in 2017. The treasurers are Gábor Bencze (Hungary), and Dr. Dieter Schneider (Germany).

The Head of the Award Committee remained Prof. Dr. Dr. Eiji Sakata.

The homepage www.vertigo-dizziness.com/gna-nes and the scientific communication through Archives for Sensology and Neurootology (ASN) http://neurootology.org remained in the professional hands of Dr. Julia Bergmann and Dr. Guillermo Bertora, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Prof. Dr. Carlos Oliveira (Brasília, Brazil) is responsible for the scientific work through International Tinnitus Journal (ITJ).

We planned that the 46th NES congress will be held in Tokyo, Japan in 2019, and the 48th NES congress will be held in Cyprus in 2021.

The main aims of the Neurotologic and Equilibriometric Society are remained: a wide platform for the scientists and clinicians, who are working in the field of neurootology and human senses.

The Members Assembly had accepted that the annual members’ fee will be 50 US.

Now we, Hungarians with our German friends are working on the official and juridical transpositions of the NES headquarter and papers.

I hope so that in September or October we will have a bank number account. At that time we will ask you the paying of the Member’s assembly annual fee.

For the maintaining of our scientific Society it is necessary to pay the membership fees. We planned that in the future the Congress fees for the NES Members will be reduced compared with the non-members, so it will be worthwhile to be a NES member.

As a newly elected president, on behalf of the newly elected board and my colleagues and friends, I promised, that we will do our best for the maintenance and further improvement of our Society.

I wish you a nice summer holiday, and you will hear about us in the autumn.

Yours sincerely
Dr Agnes Szirmai
President of the GNA-NES

Budapest, 06. 08. 2014.
